Case notes[edit]

Pre-mission[edit]

Selena Delgado's colleague, Katie Collins, has been arrested for her murder.

Rooke's husband Mark Jackson is claiming he saw Collins there that inght.

I overheard Jackson referring to an incriminating recording a company called Intex have of him.

The recording had been deleted from Intex's servers, but the logs showed someone at Rooke downloaded a copy.

Post-mission[edit]

Selena Delgado's colleague, Katie Collins, has been arrested for her murder.

Rooke's husband Mark Jackson is claiming he saw Collins there that inght.

I overheard Jackson referring to an incriminating recording a company called Intex have of him.

The recording was scrubbed from both Intex's servers and a Rooke machine that downloaded it.

Dialogue[edit]

Pre-mission[edit]

Collins : hey. this could be really dangerous, so its ok if you want to back out. this is my last chance, and itll only work if that recording is what we hope it is.

Conway :

I'm in.
Collins : thanks.
You just went 3 sentences without an exclaimation mark, Katie. What's wrong?
Collins : haha.

Collins : its getting kind of scary in here. ive got no alibi, im one of the only people who could have wiped that footage, and jacksons word carries a lot of weight. i dont wanna get you in trouble for a lost cause.

Conway :

It's not lost till I'm done. At which point, yeah, it might be totally lost.
I don't get in trouble. Trouble gets... in... OK that one's not going anywhere.
Fuck that.

Collins : haha!! thank you. good luck!

Post-mission[edit]

Collins : did you get it?!

Conway : No luck, someone thoroughly scrubbed it from that machine.

Collins : oh

Conway :

It was a long shot.
Collins : i know. thanks for trying.
I'm sorry, Katie. Don't pay me for this one. We'll keep working on it.
Collins : thats really sweet of you, but im still sending you the money. i cant use it.

Collins : i just dont know what to do now. i dont know why someone would want to frame me like this. i hate thinking someone hates me that much. they went to all that trouble to delete every copy of the security video that showed i wasnt there.

Conway :

We'll fix it.
Collins : maybe
Collins has disconnected
It's just Jackson covering his tracks, don't let him get to you.
Collins : maybe
Collins has disconnected
Uh, there's something you should know about that.
Collins : what?

Conway :

It was me. I didn't kill Selena, but the footage showed me there. I had to wipe it.

Subject: Re: What are Intex thinking?

Hey Katie. Not at all, you're asking all the right questions. Unfortunately I still can't tell you any more about what I have planned for Project Lucena, but I can certainly make a good guess at what Intex are up to.

I think we have a leak. And I think when they saw us buying up the materials for some secret project, they spent a significant chunk of their significant capital trying to corner the market for those materials before we could go into production.

You're right, Gessler got a better price than us. But since he's not married to the director of the company he bought from, he might find himself financially disadvantaged should he ever regret purchasing a vast quantity of what turns out to be useless junk.

Rooke.
