I need you to break into a DataSec facility to get some footage that might shed light on who killed Selena Delgado.

Case notes[edit]

Pre-mission[edit]

The chief of police suspects his officers are mishandling the investigation into Selena Delgado's murder.

He hired me to find a local backup of the footage from that night - the night I was there.

Post-mission[edit]

The chief of police suspects his officers are mishandling the investigation into Selena Delgado's murder.

He hired me to retrieve footage taken at a DataSec facility I broke into that night.

Dialogue[edit]

Pre-mission[edit]

Mayfield : We caught a break: one of the DataSec facilities the murderer broke into that night had a security camera. Unfortunately I can't get a warrant for the footage without letting my men know I've re-opened the case, so I need you to get it for me.

Conway :

You think the guy who wiped footage didn't wipe the footage of him wiping the footage?
Mayfield : He may not be a clever man.
So if I get this, we'll know who he is?
Mayfield : If he walked in front of that camera, we'll know what he looks like. He may not be in our database, so we'll still need to figure out how to find him.
Did any of the guards see him?
Mayfield : None who could give a usable description. "Guy in a coat," was my favourite.

After

Conway : Alright, how do I do it?

Mayfield : Just get to the terminal at their main servers on the ground floor. The data will probably be encrypted again, so just copy it and send it to me when you get out.

Conway :

Got it.
Sure, I'll definitely do exactly that.

Post-mission[edit]

Mayfield : Any luck?

Conway :

Yep, here's what I got off the servers. (Real data)
Mayfield : Alright, you don't need to actually say it's the real data, I trust you.
Mayfield : Decrypted - we have actual footage of our killer! Guy in a trenchcoat and hat. Can't see his face, but there's no way this is Katie Collins. Anyone else we suspect, we can compare their movement signatures to this and prove whether it's the same person. Good job.
Or Cover Up is unlocked
Mayfield : Decrypted - no luck. The night of the break-in's here, but the guy never sets foot in the lobby. He's smarter than we thought.
Yep, here's what I got off the servers. (Random garbage)
Cover Up is unlocked
Mayfield : Hmm, it's not decrypting. You're right, this is just random garbage. Either that or they're using a whole new cypher for some reason. I'll keep working on it and let you know what our next move is.

Subject: Rooke feeds

Ty, do you know if the feeds from the Rooke office across the street get backed up here? Do you have admin rights? If so, you, uh, might wanna check the footage from the 15th. It's that night I stayed late - on my way to the car I saw a guy making out with some latina chcick on the top floor.

Here's the thing: the guy looked EXACTLY like Mark Jackson.

I know, I know, that chick didn't turn out to be Anna Kendrick that one time. But just check. If I'm right... lol
